Multiple layers of oil paint intertwine with graphite illustration to create paintings of people, places, and things. These "slices of life," or "narrative" paintings house social commentary. They foster emotional exploration as well as model lighthearted instances for others to consider.

Paintings are created in two formats. One is small scale -- no larger than 36 inches, no smaller than ten inches. Birch panels provide a desirable surface to receive paint and illustration. The other format is canvas - within two feet and five feet. Both formats include initial sketches meshed with layers of oil color, evident through the final coat of varnish. This process assists in promoting the element of time.

Paintings have been shown in groupings ranging five to twenty, given the nature of the exhibition space. There are four ongoing series to date; "Containers," "Relationships," "Urban/Jazz," and "Portraits." When pieces from each series are exhibited together, the result is a view of life -- an array of people, emotions, and settings.
